Erupting with FUN!

The view from our classroom!

Welcome back from spring break! I hope everyone is well rested and ready for this last leg of the 2017-18 school year! It does not look like spring out there, but first graders still seem pretty excited about all of the snow! Keep sending in all of that snow gear!!

I cannot believe that we are almost toward the end of first grade! Our mantra toward the end of the year in first grade is always to "FINISH STRONG!"!! When concepts get a little more difficult, when we get a little tired from staying up later as the days become longer, and when we have gotten really comfortable where we are----we KEEP LEARNING AND GROWING! There is still a lot to learn and do, and a lot of fun to be had in first grade!

Please continue to:

* Ensure your child has a good bedtime and lots of rest for learning and success at school!

* Arrive to school on time!

* Check folders, and stay on top of homework/spelling and reading practice! We are missing a lot of leveled reader book bags.

Check out your child's SeeSaw account! We have been posting a lot more on there to show what we know! Recently, we have been talking about land forms (volcanoes, geysers), telling time to the hour and half hour, and learning about the 3 types of rocks. We hope that you enjoy this glimpse into our classroom learning, and being able to incorporate what we do in your conversations and extended practice at home!

We were erupting with fun, laughter and amazement earlier this week when we made and tested out our volcanoes! It was so much fun!! Thank you to Abrielle's family for the supplies to help make our volcanoes!

We think the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy have conspired to make a bunch of teeth fall out this week! We had 4 students lose teeth on Thursday during school, 1 on Thursday night at home, and 2 students lost teeth today (Friday)! The tooth fairy will surely be busy with our growing and changing first graders!!

We have a lot going on at school---please continue to stay involved and in the know by checking our classroom website, vikingnet.org, Forest View facebook page, and Forest View PTO facebook page!! Please check these pages for the upcoming bond vote on May 8th, Kindergarten round up dates, and preschool enrollment.

CLICK the Image above to see more about the May 8 bond. Please vote May 8th!

Coming up: Spelling Test on Monday, Spring concert Wednesday!

Have an awesome weekend!!!
