Fun at School!
We continue to have lots of fun at school! Thank you to everyone that came to our Blue Ribbon Assembly. It was fun to celebrate with everyone! We are so proud of the hard work and dedication from staff, students and parents to achieve national recognition of academic excellence! We hope you caught all the Blue Ribbon buzz on Facebook, Twitter, and in the Cadillac News.
This week, one of the big highlights was the word work area! Students are LOVING the pumpkin playdoh to spell words. Thank you to Elijah's mom for making the playdough!
Another fun part of our week was using the iPads to build words related to our long vowel phonics skill. The glow from the iPads is really strange, but you get the idea!
The magnetic alphabet app is a fun one your child might like at home! We like it because we can manipulate sounds in words quickly to make new words. Once spelling lists come home, this would be a fun way to practice!
This week in science, your child brought home a poster of an animal habitat. We spent some time learning the needs of an animal, and we will begin to focus on animal adaptations. This information feeds into opportunities to learn about biomimicry. Soon, we will be engineers and developers in search of solving a human problem, using nature (animals) as our inspiration.
We will wrap up unit 2 in math this coming week, which covers addition, subtraction, fact families, word problem, and true/false equations. Keep practicing counting forward to 120 by ones, by tens, and counting backward from 20.
***We are starting our canned food drive! Please feel free to send in non-perishable items with your child if you are able. Forest View will be making Thanksgiving dinner baskets for families in need.
***We are out of anti-bacterial hand wipes & extra snacks if anyone would like to send some in!
Thank you!!!
