Writing in the Wild

With the sun peeking through the pines, every writer is enthusiastically writing their outdoor/nature/adventure story...and it was only 8am! This was the setting for day one of our creative writing story.

This setting provides plenty of inspiration for our writers to lean on: the birds chirping and squawking, the damp grass in the morning and the dry grass in the afternoon, creepy crawlies, and brittle branches snapping beneath our feet on the hike to this writing spot.

Our writers sat beneath trees, perched on boulders, sprawled out on beach towels, and really got into their own writing zone.

There will be stories of class hikes gone wrong, dragons, camping trips gone awry, disappearances, tragedy, fishing adventures, squatchy tales from the forests, mountain adventures, kayaking river outings, African safari stories and so much more!

We have been working on developing stories with a great plot. This requires a lot of focus on developing inciting incidents that hook our readers from the beginning and launching the plot into motion, building up to the climax/most exciting and suspenseful part. We are also working on using vivid sensory descriptions that challenge our vocabulary and writing skills.

We are really looking forward to publishing this creative writing piece and sharing them with you all soon! Stay tuned.

We ❤️ Writing in the wild.
